Vlady Bystrov was born in 1967 and studied saxophone, arranger and big band conductor at the St. Petersburg Academy of Culture. During his studies he already played in the St. Petersburg Concert Symphony Orchestra and the St. Petersburg Big Band, among others.
After settling in Germany in 1994, he worked in numerous experimental projects with avant-garde use of electronics, video, dance and painting. He developed a live electronic set-up for which he composed numerous works and premiered them in solo concerts. He has also worked at the Staatstheater Braunschweig as a guest musician and composer. Since 1999 he has been a lecturer in clarinet and saxophone at the Technical University of Braunschweig and since 2004 he has been the artistic director of the International Forum for Electro-Acoustic Music and Media Art "Neue_Nacht".
