Tayfun Bademsoy was born in Turkey in 1958 and came to Germany at the age of 10. He has worked as an actor, narrator, director, writer and producer for forty years.
He became known for his appearance in "Treffer" (1984, director: Dominik Graf), "Die Abschiebung" (1985, director: Marianne Lüdcke) and in various guest roles in the "Tatort"-series. Most notably for his role as Police Superintendent Yüksel in "Ein starkes Team", where he appeared in over 40 episodes of the successful ZDF crime series, the 20-part TV series "Zwei Schlitzohren in Antalya" and the crime series "Polizeiruf München". He also appeared in the feature films "Beyond the Sea" (directed by and with Kevin Spacey), "Der Mann im Pyjama" (1981), "Klassenfeind" (1984; directed by Peter Stein) and in "Treffer" (1984).
In addition to his acting work for film and television, he has appeared on stage at the Schaubühne, the Renaissance Theatre in Berlin, the Schauspiel Frankfurt/Main and the Theater im Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen. He has also worked as a narrator in various radio plays, dubbing works and various computer games. He has directed his own short films and commercials and co-directed various theatre projects and is the founder of an actors' agency that exclusively placed artists of foreign origin.
