Together with the Syrian star singer Ibrahim Keivo and the German-Turkish actor Tayfun Bademsoy the programme features music from classical, folklore and jazz. Pieces from the cultural regions of Syria and Turkey meet songs from Franz Schubert's "Winterreise", interwoven with literary texts. A multilingual, sonorous evening of solidarity and dialogue!

The concert, which is made possible by the cooperation with the Cultural Office of the City of Hanover and the Herrenhausen Gardens, is supported by the Hanover-based intercultural association Can Arkadaş e.V., gEMiDe, Turkish community of Lower Saxony, Syrian Culture Hanover e. V.Verein der Schyeh Angehörigen in Deutschland e. V. and Hanover Helps e.V.. All proceeds from the concert will go to projects of the participating organisations in the crisis regions in Syria and Turkey.

In the foyer, photographers from the Cameo Kollektiv e.V. an exhibition of artworks that can be purchased. The proceeds from the paintings will also go to aid projects in the disaster area.

Lord Mayor Belit Onay supports the joint initiative of cultural workers and organisations from Hanover: "The damage caused by the earthquake is immense. Many people are still homeless; the reconstruction work will continue for a long time. It is important that we do not forget the people in the crisis areas. The aid projects set up by committed organisations from Hanover urgently need our continued support. I would therefore like to express my sincere thanks for the initiative behind this wonderful Syrian-Turkish-German charity concert."

Donations

The proceeds from the benefit concert will go equally to projects in Syria and Turkey. In Syria, the Hanoverian associations Syrische Kultur Hannover e.V., Verein der Schyeh Angehörigen in Deutschland e.V. and Hanover Helps e.V. are supporting the White Helmets organisation and the Barzani Charity Foundation in Afrin. In Turkey, the Turkish community in Lower Saxony is supporting the construction of a container village.
