Three installative concerts with three world premieres
"Sequenza" refers to a cycle of works by the Italian composer Luciano Berio (1925-2003): "One of the characteristics of 20th century music is the search for new, unconsumed possibilities of expression: this includes, in particular, the exploration and invention of new practices of playing the individual instruments."
In the spirit of this idea, the Ensemble Megaphon presents four interdisciplinary concerts in a Sequenza form on four consecutive days as part of the "Klangbrücken" festival. The focus is on the graphic scores of the Dutch visual artist and composer William Engelen, which are partly based on diaries and narrated stories. They will be used as the basis for the ensemble's installative performance. For example, one composition will be performed three times in a row by Czech violinist Lenka Zupkova. Each performance is recorded by means of audio and video and used in the following performance like parts of a score. In this way, the layering of the performance sequences creates a kind of sampling and overdubbing.

In three workshops we playfully examine our everyday life. From this we will develop our personal daily-life music pieces. Using musical and theatrical means, we might discover completely new sides to the processes of everyday life?
The workshops are each complemented by a joint visit to a short concert (20 min., directly afterwards) by Ensemble Megaphon at the "Klangbrücken" festival. With open ears and eyes, we look for interfaces in the concerts and our own engagement with sequences and sequences.
